About Loop & Yarn
Hi, I'm the maker behind Loop & Yarn. I share beginner-friendly crochet patterns and tutorials with clear photos and stitch-by-stitch instructions so you can actually finish the project you started.
I started this because I kept opening “free pattern” posts that buried the actual instructions under three ads and a life story — or worse, skipped a step entirely. So the bet here is simple: real depth beats a shortcut. Every post is long enough to actually work from, and short enough that you're not scrolling past filler to find round 4.
This isn't a big studio. It's one person testing every pattern before it goes up, which means new posts show up when they're actually ready, not on a content calendar — and a reply to your message might take a few days rather than a few minutes.
How a pattern gets made here
- 01
Find a real gap
I look for what people are actually stuck on — a stitch nobody explains clearly, a pattern with no photos — not just whatever's trending.
- 02
Write it from scratch
Every pattern here is authored fresh for this site. Nothing is reprinted, scraped, or generated — if it's published here, I wrote it.
- 03
Make it, start to finish
I follow my own instructions exactly as written, with the yarn and hook size the pattern actually calls for, before it goes anywhere near “publish.”
- 04
Fix what's confusing
If a step trips me up while testing, that's a bug in the writing — I rewrite it, I don't just add a footnote and move on.
Every pattern here is written from scratch. If something doesn't make sense, that's a bug in the writing, not you — reach out on the contact page and I'll fix it.
